Jan 15, 2018 BPM Supreme’s in-house expert, Raj Thomas, recently had the chance to check out djay Pro 2, the next generation of Algoriddim’s multiple award-winning DJ software. It has new features like artificial intelligent DJ mixing, beat-matched photos and an improved interface to make mixing with iTunes and Spotify even easier. Dec 11, 2017 djay Pro 2 is the next generation of Algoriddim’s multiple award-winning DJ software with countless new features, a redesigned user interface, and advanced library management tools. Djay Pro’s unique, modern interface is built around a sophisticated integration with your music library, giving you instant access to all your favorite tracks and playlists. New in djay Pro 2 is an advanced library management system that is built around a sophisticated integration with your music library, Videos, Photos, and the file system. Djay Pro 2 now also offers its own playlists that make music management easier than ever.
Algoriddim just launced djay Pro 2, the latest version of its flagship digital DJ software for the Mac. The update adds a splash of artificial intelligence: Automix AI is an advanced automixing feature that uses machine learning to identify mix in / out points in a tune and automatically creates EQ / filter changes to create seamless transitions between songs across genres. djay Pro 2’s Match is another AI-assisted feature that gathers data from Spotify to suggest tunes based on BPM, key, genre, and “danceability”.
Improved library management also makes its way to djay Pro 2: You can now create and edit playlists using music from both your iTunes library and Spotify’s 30 million-plus song catalogue, and filter categories are available to help you quickly zero in on the tracks that you’re looking for. The improved Split Library shows your iTunes, Spotify, Finder and custom playlists side by side.

For DJs who mix with visuals, the new PhotoBeat feature lets you create slideshows that cycle in time with a currently playing song. You just drag any number of photos to a deck, specify the duration, and you’ve got an automated beatmatched slideshow while you DJ.
Graphic tweaks, user interface improvements, and a new audio engine round out the highlights of djay Pro 2, among other spec bumps under the hood.
It’s been almost three years since we first reviewed djay Pro for the Mac. We loved its look, simplicity and then-innovative Spotify integration, and it’s nice to see the app continue to grow and mature, fine tuning its core and adding AI-assisted / data-driven options to its feature set. At the moment, it’s the only laptop DJ app for the Mac that lets you spin with tunes off of Spotify, and having the ability to create unified iTunes and Spotify playlists brings us closer to the “DJ streaming library” scenario, though it’s we’re still a ways off from that becoming a reality. Regardless, djay Pro 2 seems to be a step in the right direction thanks to its streaming integration, Automix AI and Match features, and unified playlisting.
