Problem with mounting NTFS USB HDD via Tuxera in Lion. Ask Question Asked 8 years, 7 months ago. Active 6 years, 5 months ago. Viewed 8k times 6. I've just updated to Lion and noticed that I cannot mount my NTFS USB HDD. Tuxera NTFS could not mount /dev/disk1s1 at /Volumes/MYHDD because the following problem occurred: CBCIO activated with.

Hi.

Mar 06, 2016  This error is now more common since the number of mac users using Tuxera NTFS increase steadily. Normally, it actually happens when Tuxera users try to mount the driver under NTFS format. Your case might be different, but the notifications all begins with “Tuxera NTFS could not mount /dev/disk2s1 at /Volumes/”. Jul 26, 2014  Tuxera NTFS TUXERA NTFS could not mount/ dev/disk0s4 at/ volume/BootCam because the following problem occurred CBCIO activated with: cp.fildes=3 cp.blockSize=524288. Well worth the money if you work with NTFS volumes frequently: Paragon NTFS for Mac OS X software. Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible.

I have an external harddrive which has worked before but a half year ago it doesn't work. When I connect it to a PC I can see there are 170 GB space taken and 300 GB free, but I can't see any files. And when I connect it to my Mac Pro Mountain Lion osx I get this message:

Tuxera ntfs could not mount dev disk1s1 at volumes 10

Tuxera NTFS could not mount /dev/disk2s1 at....
Hi
I Have just bought an Apple MacBook MC207. I have an Ext HDD which was formatted on Vista and I was able to view files, but not able to write to the HDD. I researched and found Tuxera, and thought this would enable me to write to the HDD. After installation though I am now unable to even read the HDD let alone write to the HDD.
I also researched the error on the website and followed the instructions on how to remove the program, but it hasn't worked.
Here is the error:
Tuxera NTFS could not mount /dev/disck2s1 at /Volumes/New Volume because the following occured:
CBCIO activated with:
cp.fildeds=3
cp.blockSize=524288
cp.items=32
cp.mode=1
WARNING: ReadFully - I/O error while reading from
file (5: 'Input/output error')
WARNING: failed at: pread(3, 0x600000, 518656,

WARNING: bytesRead=0
ntfs_attr_pread_i: ntfs_pread failed: Input/output
error
Failed to read $AttrDef, unexpected length (-1 !=
2560).
_ntfs_volume_release(): Inode 4 still have 1
references.
Failed to mount ' /dev/rdisk2s1': Inout/output error
NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware
fault, or it's a
SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware.
etc etc
If anyone can help then it would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks in advance.

Could you please post the error message that you get when trying to uninstall? Or if you aren't getting any, then please describe what happens when you press the uninstall button in the preference pane.
Here is the error:

Have you checked your drive with chkdsk in Windows, following the instructions in the FAQ?
It seems that there's some inconsistency with the $AttrDef file, and hopefully it can be fixed by chkdsk.

Re: Tuxera NTFS could not mount /dev/disk2s1 at....
Hi,
After using my purchased Tuxera NTFS 2010.1 for a few weeks with it working perfectly, Tuxera NTFS just started displaying an error dialog about every 2 seconds. This is happening regardless whether the only NTFS volume is mounted or not and whether Windows XP is running in VMWare Fusion or not. The only way that I can stop the error dialogs was to uninstall Tuxera NTFS.
See attached screen shot of Tuxera NTFS error dialog.
My system is the following:
MacPro 3.1,1 (2 x Xeon processors, 8 cores)
OS: 10.6.2
Memory: 18GB
Internal Disks: Bay 1 = 300GB, Bay 2 = 1TB, Bay 3 = 1TB, Bay 4 = 2TB
One volume named 'DHD4-NTFS' (320GB) is the second partition on the 2TB drive (see attached screen shot). There are no other NTFS volumes on my Mac except 2 VMWare Fusion Virtual Disks inside the Window XP virtual machine.
Thank you,
Don
There have been no recent software updates.
Anyone know what might be happening?

I have this problem in MacOS X.
Tuxera NTFS could not mount /dev/disk2s1

cp.flushInterval=1000

Have you checked your NTFS drive in Windows with 'chkdsk /f' as suggested in the error message, and in the FAQ? Does this fix your issue?
Please see the following URL for information about running 'chkdsk': http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265

I too am having the same problem. I have almost given up on this product. It worked for a few weeks and now nothing.
I have tried this with numerous drives all to no avail.
Is there anyone out there with a solution other than running chkdsk with windows. I don't believe every drive I have would be problematic including the last one I checked which worked initially and 3 months later it doesn't even though I haven't used the drive since then!?!

Are you sure you are having the same problem? Many people think that it's the same problem just because the drive won't mount, but the exact wording of the error message does matter.
If you are a Tuxera NTFS for Mac customer, then please feel free to contact our dedicated support email (see your activation email), where we'll be happy to troubleshoot your setup to find out what the problem is.
